BARBARA NICKERSON
BARBARA NICKERSON's enchanting watercolor paintings in Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream and Shakespeare's The Tempest grew out of a long fascination with Shakespeare's plays. It's, therefore, not surprising that she brings her own sense of warmth to the illustrations in these books. She has shown her work in New York, Germany, and has had a solo exhibition in Paris. She is listed in both the Encyclopedia of Sumi-E and Who's Who in International Sumi-E Artists. She received her BFA at the Art Institute of Chicago, and is a workshop teacher and signature member of the Northwest Watercolor Society, Women Painters of Washington and Puget Sound Sumi Artists. Ms. Nickerson lives on a ranch in Cle Elum, Washington, with her husband, Jul.
